Just yesterday, I met a manufacture, a new vendor to me but not
new to the retail manufacturing
world. We sat and disscused all the details of our current project. After years of being a designer, it
never ceases to amaze me everything required to build what we as designers dream up. At times,
there are heated discussions as to how something should be build, how it should look and if it’s
possible. It’s my job to be an aesthetic advocate for my client as well as for design itself thus the
heated debates. Collaboration during all parts of the process is key. The moment a design becomes something real, three dimensional that is magical. The machines, the technology, the manpower, yes, all of these things live in science but to me it’s true alchemy. Walking the facility, seeing cut out letters, wood pieces being glued together, I see the results of vision, hard work and collaboration. This is the magic of design.
