This Year was the first time in many years where I had the opportunity to visit New York for a weekend in December. This once yearly tradition got lost among the all the noise that the end of the year brings.
The trip was a pleasure, finally getting to shop the stores in Manhattan instead of looking at design, layouts and lighting. Sometimes I get so caught up in what we do that I forget how fun it can be to shop! The crush of people! Both locals and tourists buying gifts for others or themselves. Stores were crowded but it was early enough that the mad panic had not set in yet for those last few presents.
What I liked best:
• The Freedom tower shiny and bright.
• Lunch at Gotham West.
• The tree in Rockefeller plaza
• The Red kettle dancers – dancing to Stayin Alive by the Bee Gees. So fun!
• Seeing St. Patrick’s scrubbed clean - I had no idea it was white!
• And of course … the windows, the windows the windows!
• My favorite windows were Bergdorf Goodman windows on 5th Avenue.
Here are a few of my snaps …
