What to do in Nashville if you are not a fan of Country Music?
When I planned a stop in Nashville this summer on a road trip to the Smoky Mountains I was asked several times..."Are you going to the Grand Ole Opy?". Nope. It's not that I hate country music rather I just don't put it on the top of my list. I loved the atmosphere and street scene with all the live music pouring out of the honky-tonks. I loved the street musicians on every corner and all the larger than life attitude I came across. I must say my two favorite stops were 'Hatch Show Print" and "Third Man Records".
Hatch is one of the oldest letterpress shops and has been continuously operating since 1879.
Hatch began as a family business and became famously known for printing concert posters.
You could miss their shop that is modestly tucked into Broadway. I walked in the door and that designer, historian, print geek started oozing out of me. The manager could see it in my eyes and was gracious enough to stop what she was doing and show me around.
"Advertising without posters is like fishing without worms."

Third Man Records is the Nashville home of Detroit's own Jack White.
His recording and production company is off the beaten path across from
a homeless shelter. After getting buzzed into the front door you step
into Jack's world. Very cool. I bought a couple records and was on my way.
